There are certain conditions which have to be met if a non Shotgun Certificate holder is to handle and fire a Shotgun. The person firing the Shotgun must not be a prohibited person as described by the provisions of the Firearms Act of 1968 and its various amendments, a note of this act follows. Any person who has served a prison sentence or youth custody for a period of more than three months but less than three years is subject to a five year prohibition from having a firearm or ammunition in his possession. A person who has served a prison sentence or youth custody for a period in excess of three years is prohibited for life. We ask the event organizer to check that no prospective participant is a prohibited person.
The land upon which the shoot is to take place must have a current Section 11-6 exemption certificate in place. If the land is suitable we can arrange this for the event.
All participants must be under effective supervision. We achieve this by using qualified instructors on a one to one basis with the person shooting.
No ammunition is to be removed from the site by unauthorized persons.
We carry our own liability insurance, a copy can be made available upon booking.
